In an instant, Oscar appeared by my side and said: “Silly Vanessa, you don’t have school today. It’s a Sunday, remember? Oh and since you’re awake, can I have some doggy biscuits?” Did I mention that Oscar was a talking dog? No? Whoops, how forgetful of me.
“Please!” Oscar whined in my ear.
I went downstairs, with Oscar happily trailing behind me. As I poured doggy biscuits into a bowl for Oscar, I heard my mom come down the stairs.
“Yeah, thanks mom.” I’ll have some bacon, eggs, pancakes with maple syrup on top and a glass of orange juice please.” I replied.
As we ate our breakfasts, I thought about what I should do with Oscar today as I read the newspaper. I decided to ask if Oscar wanted to go on a run with me. After all, I usually go on a run in the mornings. I’ll plan the rest of the day later. The local newspaper talked about a bank, called the Christopher Bank, having money stolen last night during midnight. It seems that this happens a lot these days. What’s up with those robbers?
“Hooray!” Oscar cheered.
I ran upstairs to my bedroom, changed as quickly as I could, and ran back downstairs. Oscar was bouncing all around, he could hardly sit still.
“No you are!” I retorted. “Now go get your leash so that we can go!” I ordered Oscar.
“You better get it now, or I’m not taking you along!” I said threateningly.
Oscar quickly ran to get his leash, and once I made sure that I had securely fastened his leash onto his collar, we jogged to the running track near the woods.
