Based on Dostoevsky's novel "The Idiot," 16 films and television series were shot in Russia, Italy, France, Japan, Great Britain, India, Poland, Germany, Estonia, and theater plays, ballets, and operas were staged. And for the writer himself it was one of his most favorite works.
Dostoevsky specifically endowed his hero, Prince Myshkin, with a disease that should have inspired hostility. This moment is important not only because the intrigue of the novel is tied to the hero's mental health, but also because the illness did not in the least push him away from the prince... He is the embodiment of goodness, selflessness, honesty, and often this is why he was called an "idiot," but almost everyone I felt in him an extremely beautiful person.
