Питер Померанцев родился в 1977-м в Киеве. А в следующем году его семья эмигрировала в Западную Германию, когда отца Питера, поэта и телеведущего Игоря Померанцева, за распространение "вредной литературы" арестовало КГБ. В книге "Это не пропаганда" он обращается к стихотворениям того времени. По окончании университета переехал в Москву, где жил с 2001-го по 2010 год. Работал на телевидении. После писал о России для Newsweek, The Atlantic Monthly и других изданий. Преподает в университете.
